I’ve been involved in the design and development of a wide range of communications systems for different applications. Satellite-based applications include :

- Meteorological data dissemination
- Maritime communications
- Aeronautical communications

Each of these applications places different demands on the system design engineer, and different access and modulation & coding schemes are usually required in each case.
This section and sub-pages detail the underlying design and development work carried out in the past. It’s organised by type of access scheme, rather than by any particular system.
Note that extensive use has to be made of mathematical modelling and computer simulation, and these are my favourite areas.
